About Carter 1922
Where History Inspires Hospitality
Carter 1922 is a terrace restaurant directly beside the historic Carter House in Luxor. Enjoy fresh breakfasts and lunches with views of Carter’s house, the Stopelaere House, the Tombs of the Nobles, and the road to the Valley of the Kings. A unique dining experience where history and flavor meet.
In November 1922, the world held its breath when Howard Carter stepped into the tomb of Tutankhamun. On Luxor’s West Bank, beside his house, the spirit of discovery and wonder still lingers.
More than a hundred years later, in 2025, Carter 1922 was created as a tribute to that moment. It is not just a terrace restaurant, but a place where you can pause, breathe, and take in the same timeless views that once inspired explorers and dreamers.
From our terrace, you can see the
historic Carter House itself, the
Stopelaere House, the ancient mountains dotted with the
Tombs of the Nobles, and the road that winds its way towards the legendary
Valley of the Kings.
Here, we believe dining is not only about food—it is about atmosphere and story. Each breakfast and lunch is served with a view that connects you directly to the legacy of Luxor.

Because history deserves to be lived, not only remembered
